The video below demonstrates the first version of the user flow. Hi-fi prototype testing is used prior to the commencement of the development of an app to test user scenarios and the app interface. This minimises the cost and duration of the development stage.
The registration scenario had a few steps and required the user to link their bank account to the app. The prototype testing with the end users demonstrated that the registration process was too long, and they were not willing to provide their bank details to a an unfamiliar app. This meant that the user acquisition rate would have been affected dramatically.
Based on the feedback from the users, we changed the user flow by postponing the registration to the point when the users are given access to the virtual card within the app. We also amended the user interface accordingly. This received a positive feedback during the consecutive tests. Once we had the confirmation from the users that they would complete registration, we commenced development of the app.
